We've all got handbags, right? Lots of 'em. And most of them languish in the wardrobe, too good to throw away but just never quite right for the occasion. That's why "Old Bags" was born. It's an initiative to declutter, streamline and, in doing so, raise valuable funds for a fabulous charity.
There are two ways to do your bit:
Get in touch with me to arrange collection or drop-off to myself or Angie Lawrence. Alternatively, these lovely people have also offered to receive donations:
Cuppa Dunchurch, Daventry Road, Dunchurch
Belvoir Lettings, Newbold Road, Rugby
The most recent was held on Saturday 30th November at The Bear in Bilton, Rugby.
Around 30 people attended, we received more than 100 bags and, in total, raised over £600! We plan to hold another event in early 2025. Watch this space for more details!
Myton Hospices are leaders in compassionate end of life care. Their work centres on patient wellbeing and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly they give patients more quality time with their loved ones.
A charity, just 20% of its funding comes from the NHS and this year alone, they need to raise £11 million of the £14.3 million it costs to continue providing services free of charge to patients and their loved ones.
Last year Myton supported thousands of people and their families, in their hospices, via their patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.
