CALLING ALL OLD BAGS...

Old Bags logo - Sorted by Wendy's fundraising for Myton Hospice

There's life in the old bags yet!

We've all got handbags, right? Lots of 'em. And most of them languish in the wardrobe, too good to throw away but just never quite right for the occasion. That's why "Old Bags" was born. It's an initiative to declutter, streamline and, in doing so, raise valuable funds for a fabulous charity.

How can I get involved?

There are two ways to do your bit:

  1. Donate a good quality handbag. One that you may not use but that someone else would be thrilled to own. 100% of proceeds from any handbag sold will be donated.
  2. Come along to an "Old Bags" event. Buy a coffee, have a chat and, hopefully, find and buy a bag you love!

How do I donate?

These lovely folks have offered to receive bag donations:

  • Cuppa Dunchurch
  • Belvoir Lettings
  • Melanie Webb Flowers
  • Kate Webb Hair
  • LMC Physio

Alternatively, get in touch with me to arrange collection or drop-off to myself or Angie Lawrence.

When is the next Old Bags events?

The next planned event is on Saturday 22nd November at The Bear in Bilton, Rugby.

Last time we had around 30 people in attendance, we received more than 100 bags and, in total, raised over £600! But, this time, we're hoping to smash all of those figures. Will you come and can you help us?

Who benefits?

Myton Hospices are leaders in compassionate end of life care. Their work centres on patient wellbeing and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly they give patients more quality time with their loved ones.

A charity, just 20% of its funding comes from the NHS and this year alone, they need to raise £11 million of the £14.3 million it costs to continue providing services free of charge to patients and their loved ones.

Last year Myton supported thousands of people and their families, in their hospices, via their patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.
